What are Journaling & Sketching Games?

These are games where you take on the role of the main character and play on your own, at your own pace, creating a story as you go. You will roll dice or draw cards to provide events, characters, and story prompts, then you decide what happens and record it in your sketchbook or journal.

If you’ve never played a game like this before or don’t consider yourself to be a writer or an artist, don’t worry. Whether you fill your journal with brief bullet points and scribbled sketches, or write pages of flowing prose and full-color illustrations, it is a perfect record of your story.
